The Maharani Adi Lakshmi Devamma (M.A.L.D) Government Arts & Science Degree College in Gadwal is the oldest and most prominent higher education institution in the Jogulamba Gadwal district. Established in 1960, it was originally a private college before being taken over by the state government and renamed in honor of Maharani Adi Laxmi Devamma, the revered queen of the Gadwal Samsthanam known for her patronage of education and arts.
