The Svarga Brahma Temple is the most elaborately ornamented among the nine Navabrahma Temples in Alampur, Jogulamba Gadwal district.  Dedicated to Lord Shiva, it was constructed between 681 and 696 CE during the reign of the Badami Chalukya king Vinayaditya. An inscription within the temple credits its construction to Lokaditya Ela Arasa in honor of the queen.

• Structure: Built on an elevated platform (Jagati), it features a six-pillared porch (Mukha Mandapa), a large pillared main hall (Maha Mandapa), and a sanctum with a circumambulatory path.

• Sculptural Richness: It is the most sculpturally rich of the Alampur group. The outer walls depict Nataraja (dancing Shiva), Lingodbhava, Dakshinamurti, and the Vamana-Trivikrama legend of Vishnu. 

• Unique Friezes: The temple uniquely features friezes illustrating four fables from the Panchatantra, each accompanied by a Sanskrit inscription summarizing its moral.

• Details: The pillars display engraved human figures, including men riding lions and mythical animals. The doorway is guarded by horned Dvarapalas and flanked by river goddesses Ganga and Yamuna.  The Sukanasi (nose of the tower) houses a exquisite carving of dancing Shiva.
