The Sri Bala Brahmeswara Swamy Temple is the largest and most prominent among the nine Navabrahma Temples in Alampur, Jogulamba Gadwal district.  Dedicated to Lord Shiva in his child form (Bala), it is a masterpiece of 7th-century Badami Chalukya architecture and holds unique historical significance as the temporary sanctuary for Goddess Jogulamba for over 600 years

Constructed around 702 CE by Chalukya King Pulakesi II with later additions by Vikramaditya II in 755 CE, this temple is historically vital.  After the original Jogulamba Temple was destroyed by Bahmani Sultans in the 14th century, the idol of Goddess Jogulamba was shifted here for safety.  She remained enshrined in a small shrine within this complex until the new Jogulamba Temple was reconstructed in 2005. This makes the site a dual shrine of immense Shakti and Shaiva importance.
