The Government General Hospital (GGH) in Telangana’s Jogulamba Gadwal district has dispatched a medical team to assist in emergency response efforts following a fatal bus accident in Kurnool district, Andhra Pradesh, in the early hours of Friday (October 24, 2025). Speaking to The Hindu, Indira, Superintendent of GGH Gadwal, said that while no injured persons had been brought to the Gadwal hospital so far, a team from Gadwal Medical College was sent immediately to the accident site to support the ongoing rescue and treatment operations. “Our medical team went to Kurnool soon after learning about the accident. The team of five comprises a general surgeon, a general medicine specialist, and an administrative deputy superintendent, along with other support staff. They travelled with an ambulance and all necessary equipment.

In Kagaznagar, Isnapur and other municipalities, several independents assured support to the BRS, strengthening its prospects in closely contested councils.

Jogulamba-Gadwal: In a setback to the Congress ahead of the local body elections in Telangana, former Gadwal Municipal chairman BS Keshav quit the party in Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s home district of Palamuru. Telangana State Updates Keshav, citing discrimination against BCs within the party, announced that he would join the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) in the presence of working president KT Rama Rao on September 6 or 10th. Along with him, several former councillors and sarpanches are also set to switch sides to the BRS.

Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader K. Kavitha on Monday announced that she is forming a new political party. Kavitha, a former MP, is the daughter of former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR). She said her organisation, Telangana Jagruthi, will contest the 2029 Assembly elections and made it clear that she will not return to the BRS founded by her father. Kavitha said Telangana Jagruthi will enter electoral politics, though the final name of the party is yet to be decided. She was expelled from the BRS on September 2 over allegations of anti-party activities. During a visit to Jogulamba Gadwal district, Kavitha said the new party will focus on public participation and the protection of Telangana’s culture.
