The Beechupally Hanuman Temple, also known as Beechupally Rayudu, is a revered 200-year-old shrine dedicated to Lord Hanuman, situated on the banks of the Krishna River in the Jogulamba Gadwal district of Telangana. Located directly on National Highway 44 (formerly NH7), it serves as a critical spiritual stop for pilgrims traveling to Srisailam and is often called a “Siddha Kshetra” for its believed power to grant wishes and remove obstacles.

The temple’s origins date back to the 15th–16th century during the Vijayanagara Empire. According to legend, the idol was installed by Sri Vyasaraja, the royal guru of King Krishnadevaraya.When Vyasaraja wondered who would perform daily worship after his departure, Lord Hanuman appeared in his dream and indicated that the first person to offer prayers the next morning would be the priest. A young tribal boy from the Boya tribe named Beechupally was found worshipping the idol, and he was appointed the first archaka (priest). The village and the deity were subsequently named after him. To this day, descendants of the Boya tribe often serve as priests, maintaining a unique tradition.
