The Papanasi Temples are a historic cluster of approximately 23 to 24 Hindu shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva, located in Alampur, Telangana. Dating between the 6th and 11th centuries CE, these temples were originally constructed on the banks of the Tungabhadra River but were meticulously relocated to their current site on higher ground by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) in the 1980s to prevent submergence by the Srisailam Dam reservoir.

• Badami Chalukyas (6th Century): Built the primary shrine, Papanaseswara. 

• Rashtrakutas and Western Chalukyas (9th–11th Century): Constructed the majority of the surrounding shrines. The temples were historically associated with the Kalamukha and Pashupata sects of Shaivism. Before their destruction in the 14th century during Sultanate invasions, the site, known as Brahmesvara Sthana, was a major pilgrimage center often referred to as Dakshina Kasi (Southern Kasi).
