Jogulamba Gadwal: A 43-year-old man was brutally murdered by two unidentified assailants at Kanchapadu village in Undavalli mandal of Alampur constituency on Sunday. The deceased was identified as Krishnaiah Goud. The incident occurred on the outskirts of the village when Krishnaiah Goud was consuming alcohol. The attackers allegedly threw chilli powder into his eyes before assaulting him with knives. He collapsed on the spot and died, police said.
Jogulamba Gadwal: Tension prevailed at Paipadu in Vaddepally municipality on Tuesday after Congress MP from Nagarkurnool, Mallu Ravi, allegedly pushed aside Alampur BRS MLA Vijayudu over a protocol issue. The Congress MP, along with other party leaders including AICC General Secretary Sampath Kumar, arrived at the venue to participate in several development programmes. As the local MLA, Vijayudu also reached the venue along with BRS leaders.
HYDERABAD: Jogulamba Gadwal police on Thursday arrested eight people, including a newly-wed woman and her lover, for the abduction and murder of 32-year-old land surveyor Ganta Tejeshwar on June 17.Police said the murder was plotted by V Tirumala Rao, 35, manager at Can Fin Homes Ltd in Kurnool, and his lover Sahasra alias Aishwarya, 23, Tejeshwar’s wife. They roped in a gang with promises of cash and favours to execute the plan. All eight were sent to judicial remand. Police plan to seek custody for crime scene reconstruction and evidence recovery.The accused include: Tirumala Rao, Aishwarya, three contract killers – K Nagesh, 33, Ch Parashuramudu, 30, and Ch Raju, 25 – Tirumala Rao’s father Tirupataiah, 64, a retired APSP cop, Aishwarya’s mother Sujatha, 50, and A Mohan, 30, a mason from Jammiched village who tracked Tejeshwar’s movements.
Gadwal: A monthly crime review meeting was held on Monday at the conference hall of the Jogulamba Gadwal District Police Office. District SP T. Srinivas Rao presided over the meeting with police officials to review various cases, including Old UI, grave cases, ST/SC cases, and contested cases. The discussion focused on increasing the conviction rate in registered cases and taking necessary steps to expedite pending investigations. During the meeting, the SP reviewed under-investigation cases and gathered details from police officials regarding both grave and non-grave cases. He emphasized the importance of close coordination between police officers and judicial authorities to ensure the speedy resolution of pending cases in all police station jurisdictions. The SP instructed the officials to complete investigations thoroughly and dispose of cases efficiently.
Jogulamba Gadwal: The Principal District and Sessions Court in Mahabubnagar sentenced six persons to life imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs. 3,500 each in connection with the 2016 murder of former village sarpanch Pani Kurumanna in Manopad. The murder fueled by an ongoing feud since 2012, occurred when Kurumanna was attacked with hunting knives while on Potula Padu Road. The victim’s family alleged the crime was motivated by his role in leading witnesses in a related murder case involving the same accused.
Jogulamba Gadwal police swiftly solved a murder case within 48 hours, arresting six individuals. The victim, Sandhya Pogu Ramesh, was killed on February 12, 2025, near Maddur stage. Initially reported as a hit-and-run, the investigation revealed a premeditated murder orchestrated by Ramesh’s own brothers. Ramesh had ongoing property disputes with his brothers, Sandyapogu Gopi and Sandyapogu Mahesh. Tensions escalated after Ramesh and another brother allegedly attempted to murder Mahesh. Seeking revenge, Mahesh plotted Ramesh’s murder with his family’s knowledge.
JOGULAMBA GADWAL: A man succumbed to burn injuries on Monday evening after his wife allegedly poured hot oil on him following frequent quarrels. The deceased, Venkatesh, a resident of Mallemdoddi village, had been married to Padma for eight years. The couple, who have three children, were reportedly engaged in regular disputes over domestic issues.
The Government General Hospital (GGH) in Telangana’s Jogulamba Gadwal district has dispatched a medical team to assist in emergency response efforts following a fatal bus accident in Kurnool district, Andhra Pradesh, in the early hours of Friday (October 24, 2025). Speaking to The Hindu, Indira, Superintendent of GGH Gadwal, said that while no injured persons had been brought to the Gadwal hospital so far, a team from Gadwal Medical College was sent immediately to the accident site to support the ongoing rescue and treatment operations. “Our medical team went to Kurnool soon after learning about the accident. The team of five comprises a general surgeon, a general medicine specialist, and an administrative deputy superintendent, along with other support staff. They travelled with an ambulance and all necessary equipment.
Hyderabad: With no clear winners in many urban local bodies, Telangana’s political battlefield has swiftly shifted from counting centres to closed-door negotiations. A fractured verdict in 37 municipalities and corporations has triggered intense backroom manoeuvring, as parties scramble to line up independents and rebels to clinch chairperson and mayor posts.A day after the municipal election results threw up a split mandate, major political parties turned their focus to independents and dissidents to bridge the numbers gap. Some smaller parties pledged their support to the Congress without formally joining it, underscoring the fluid political equations now in play. In Bellampally, independent councillors Shankar Singh and Kumara Swamy joined the BRS in the presence of BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Saturday. Another councillor from the town, Ramulu, extended support to the BRS for the municipal chairperson post.The BJP, meanwhile, secured the backing of four independent candidates and one rebel for the Karimnagar mayoral election. In Kagaznagar, Isnapur and other municipalities, several independents assured support to the BRS, strengthening its prospects in closely contested councils.
Jogulamba-Gadwal: In a setback to the Congress ahead of the local body elections in Telangana, former Gadwal Municipal chairman BS Keshav quit the party in Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s home district of Palamuru. Telangana State Updates Keshav, citing discrimination against BCs within the party, announced that he would join the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) in the presence of working president KT Rama Rao on September 6 or 10th. Along with him, several former councillors and sarpanches are also set to switch sides to the BRS.
